Sapphire Reserve for Business℠ vs The Business Platinum Card® from American Express

There are several Lyft linking partners:
| Rewards Program | Airport Rides | Premium Rides (Extra Comfort / Black / Black SUV) | Standard & XL Rides | Currency Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Atmos Rewards | 3 pts/$1 | 3 pts/$1 | 2 pts/$1 | Airline miles (Alaska / Hawaiian) |
| United MileagePlus | 4 miles/$1 (scheduled) / 3 miles/$1 (on-demand) | 3 miles/$1 | 1 mile/$1 | Airline miles (United) |
| Hilton Honors | 3 pts/$1 | 3 pts/$1 | 3 pts/$1 | Hotel points |
| Bilt Rewards | 2 pts/$1 | 2 pts/$1 | 2 pts/$1 | Transferable currency |
Bilt Rewards points stand out from every other option on this list because they're a transferable currency. You can move Bilt points to 17 airline partners and 6 hotel chains at a 1:1 ratio, while United miles stay locked in United, Hilton points stay locked in Hilton, and Atmos points only work for Alaska and Hawaiian flights.
You’ll go to your Lyft app on your phone and go to the “You” section in the bottom right hand of the screen.
Then underneath “Programs”, you will select “Rewards.”
After that, you will choose “Linked” under Rewards or scroll down to the Linked section.
Under “Linked,” you will be able to choose your rewards partner: Hilton Honors, Bilt Rewards, Atmos Rewards or United MileagePlus. For my Lyft account, you can see that I chose Atmos Rewards already.
Bilt Rewards is the rewards program for Bilt which is a housing and neighborhood commerce network that transforms spend into rewards and benefits for everyone involved, and the first program to allow members to earn rewards on rent.
Bonus, you do not need to have any Bilt card to earn points in the program. You can just join and then start earning rewards on your Lyft rides (once Lyft & Bilt are linked).
The best part is that the points you earn are normal Bilt Points that can be transferred to a variety of travel partners.
Bilt has 23 transfer partners (17 airlines, 6 hotel chains) that you can move your points to at a 1:1 ratio.
Bilt is the only transferable currency available as a Lyft linking partner, which definitely makes them stand out. For example, if you earn 2 Bilt Points, you can transfer those points to Alaska Airlines (Atmos) or Hyatt, two highly valuable rewards programs.
Atmos Rewards is the new loyalty program for Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines. Besides connecting your Lyft account to your Atmos Rewards account, there are many ways to earn Atmos Rewards points:
Hilton Honors is the loyalty program for over 8,000 Hilton properties in 139 countries. You can earn Hilton Honors points in a number of ways:
United MileagePlus is the loyalty program for United Airlines. As someone who flies United relatively frequently there are many ways to earn United miles:
There are other ways to earn United miles but these are by far the most common ways to get United miles.
When I'm looking for more points, I'm always looking at transferable currencies. That's why Bilt Rewards takes the crown as the best Lyft linking partner. The reason being that you can transfer Bilt Rewards points to many valuable airline and hotel partners. And with Bilt's transition to Cardless, you can earn points on rent OR mortgages as of February 2026.
With the other Lyft linking partners, you are confined to that single program. With that being said, there are still other good options.
I would say that Atmos Rewards is at a solid second place for Lyft linking partners. You’ll earn 3 points per $1 on airport rides, extra comfort & Black rides. If you take a lot of Lyft rides to the airport or prefer the premium version of Lyft rides, Atmos Rewards might be a good choice. If you are booking standard or XL rides, you earn 2 points per $1 spent so I’d go for Bilt in that case. Bilt gives you that flexibility where you can transfer to Atmos Rewards if you’d like but also transfer to their 22 other airline & hotel partners (23 in total).
Here’s where the drop-off comes. United MileagePlus is at a distant third. The only solid earn rate they have for Lyft is on scheduled airport rides being 4 points per $1 spent on scheduled airport rides. The only way I could see you choose United is if you don’t live on the West Coast and can’t take advantage of Atmos Rewards and their number of transfer partners.
It’s a similar but worse story with Hilton Honors. I would rate them 4th. Hilton Honors points are notoriously not valuable. You might choose Hilton Honors as a Lyft linking partner if you don’t use Bilt and fly very rarely.
After stumbling upon the Lyft linking partner opportunity a couple months ago, it sounded like a great opportunity to earn extra points/miles. And it sure is. Whether you use Lyft on vacations, business trips or for everyday use, you should 100% choose a Lyft linking partner. It’s an easy way to get you a little bit closer to your next dream vacay even if it's only a few hundred or a few thousand points.
Does Lyft have partnerships with airline rewards programs?
Yes. Lyft currently partners with three airline-connected rewards programs: United MileagePlus (earning up to 4 miles per $1), Atmos Rewards by Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines (earning up to 3 points per $1), and Bilt Rewards (which can be transferred to many airline partners like Alaska or United at a 1:1 ratio). You can only link one partner at a time, so choose the one that fits your travel patterns best.
Does Lyft or Uber have a better loyalty rewards program?
Lyft has the edge when it comes to linking partners. With Lyft, you earn points or miles on every ride type, including standard rides. Uber's linking partners (Delta Air Lines and Marriott Bonvoy) are weaker. That makes Lyft the better option for earning loyalty rewards on everyday rideshare trips.
How do I link Bilt Rewards to my Lyft account?
Open the Lyft app, tap the "You" icon in the bottom right, then go to Programs > Rewards > Linked. Select Bilt Rewards from the list of partners and sign in to your Bilt account. You don't need a Bilt credit card to link. Just create a free Bilt Rewards account and you're good to go.
Is there a limit on the points you can earn when you link a rewards program to your Lyft account?
Nope. You can earn as many points or miles as you'd like on Lyft rides once you link your rewards partner. There's no cap on earnings from any of the four linking partners.
Can I change my rewards partner on Lyft whenever I want?
Yes, you aren't locked in. You can switch between Bilt Rewards, Atmos Rewards, United MileagePlus, and Hilton Honors whenever you want through the Lyft app. Just go to the Linked section under Rewards and select a different partner.
Do I need a Bilt card to earn points on Lyft rideshare?
No, you do not. You just need a free Bilt Rewards account, which is separate from having a Bilt credit card. Link your Bilt account in the Lyft app and you'll start earning 2 Bilt Points per $1 on US rides, regardless of which credit card you use to pay.
