What’s the welcome offer on the World of Hyatt card?
The limited time welcome offer for the Hyatt card comes in two parts:
- You will earn 3 free night awards after you make $5,000 in purchases within 3 months of the account opening
- Then you will earn an additional 2 free night awards after you make a total of $15,000 in purchases 6 months from the account opening.
That means you could potentially earn 5 free night awards if you hit all the requirements for the welcome bonus. And you will actually end up with 6 free night awards because the card automatically earns an additional free night award after $15,000 of spend.
The free night awards are valid for any available standard room at Hyatt hotels and resorts that are designated as Category 1 through 4 under the World of Hyatt program. Once you receive your free night awards, you will have 12 months to use them.

It’s good for people who stay in hotels 50-100 nights a year and even the person who only goes on one vacation a year. Either way, you will be saving money on your Category 1-4 Hyatt stay. You could save over $100 because some of the hotels cost over $200 a night and you are only paying $95 for the annual fee.

There are endless possibilities to use your free night awards at Category 1-4 Hyatt hotels & resorts and I wanna show you a cool option in Boston, Massachusetts.
The Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor hotel is a Category 4 Hyatt hotel located near Boston Harbor. And it is just a 15 minute drive from downtown Boston. You can use your annual free night award here with no issues. I checked out a one night stay on Hyatt’s site and found that it would cost $255 for a one night stay from March 13-14.
You can get this $255 one night stay for just $95 because the World of Hyatt card gives you one free night award each cardmember anniversary. Pretty awesome.

World of Hyatt card vs. Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card—what card is better for you?
The World of Hyatt card has a lot of similarities to the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card because both cards offer free night awards each cardmember anniversary. Marriott calls them free night certificates. The way it works with Marriott is that you can redeem the free night certificate for any hotel that is 50,000 points or less. Both cards are at a $95 annual fee as well.
If I had to choose between the World of Hyatt card and the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card, I would say it all depends on the location of your typical stays. If your vacation spots have only Hyatt locations, go for the Hyatt card. Same thing applies for the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card. It’s important to note however that Marriott has over 9,700 properties so if you are looking for more extensive coverage across the globe, go for the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card.
If you stay at hotels 2 nights or more a year, I would say that you should get both cards! You’ll be able to save $200-$400 on your stays at Hyatt and Marriott locations.
