TLDR; With a number of Hyatts in the Boston area, you have plenty of options when visiting. And the quality will not disappoint since Hyatt boasts outstanding standards.
Boston has a wide variety of Hyatt hotels allowing you to decide between more luxurious stays to hotels that might be more affordable. And if you have Hyatt points or points that can be transferred to Hyatt, you can book these hotels with points.
As someone who lives near the Boston area and frequents Boston during the weekend to visit my girlfriend, I can say it's a great place to travel with lots of things to do.
What are your options?
There are Hyatt Places, Hyatt Houses, Hyatt Regencys, Hyatt Centric and Mr. & Mrs. Smith branded hotels in the Boston area. All of these Hyatt brands have their pros but I’ll get into how these specific hotels in Boston stack up against each other.
Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor

The Hyatt Regency in Boston Harbor is the one Hyatt I’ve stayed at out of all of the options in Boston. I stayed here for a night before an early morning flight before I met my girlfriend who lives in Boston haha. This was for a one night stay with one of my friends from college before we headed out to Havana, Cuba.
My friend and I stayed at the Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor about two years ago so let’s hope I have a good memory. The hotel was only a mile away from the airport which was really nice for our circumstances. Upon arriving at the hotel I noticed that there were pilots hanging around outside and folks entering with lots of bags.
If you’ve ever been to Boston Logan International Airport, you know that it's outside of the city. It makes it so that if you stay at the Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor, it's best for a one or two night stay before a flight.
The room was nice with two queen beds and lots of space. The view was ok since it was of airport runways. I’ll say that there’s a chance you get a view of the Boston Harbor which is spectacular.
There wasn’t any free breakfast since it's a Hyatt Regency. And unfortunately I was not staying with my friend who has Hyatt Globalist status which would’ve included free breakfast. It’s quite nice at a Hyatt Regency as its high quality breakfast.
The Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor has a 4.4 out of 5 rating with over 2,500 reviews. A very solid rating for an “airport hotel.”
Hyatt Regency Boston/Cambridge

This hotel is in an excellent location in Cambridge, MA (right outside of Boston) with plenty of activities and things to do. You are within walking distance of the prestigious Harvard University and just a subway stop away from MIT.

There’s some neat museums that Harvard has, like their Museum of Natural History, Mineralogical Museum, and Art Museum. My personal favorite is the Harvard Mineralogical Museum as I have been before and I’m a bit of a geology geek.
And you are right near Harvard Square with lots of great restaurants and bars. I like Felipe’s taqueria as it has a great vibe for people 20-27 ish with a rooftop bar and yummy Mexican food. And you can go to Grendel’s or The Longfellow bar for some good bars.
My favorite breakfast spot in Cambridge is The Friendly Toast—they have cool menu options like the Chicken Cordon Bleu Benny with a Rice Krispies coated chicken breast.
The hotel itself is a Hyatt Regency so rest assured you will have a high quality stay. And you’ll have arguably the best view of the Boston skyline.
And the Hyatt Regency Boston/Cambridge has a 4.1 out of 5 review on Google Reviews. This is out of over 2,600 reviews.
Hyatt Regency Boston

At the Hyatt Regency Boston, you would be right in downtown Boston with easy access to the subway system. Being in downtown Boston, you’re near both Chinatown and the Theater district.
Hyatt Regencys are known for their luxurious vibe and high quality rooms—so you will be in good hands at the Hyatt Regency Boston.
The Hyatt Regency Boston has a 4.3 out of 5 review on Google Reviews with over 3,600 reviews.
Hyatt Place Boston/Seaport District

If you’re staying at the Hyatt Place Boston/Seaport District, you’ll be in the Seaport area of Boston where there is lots of nightlife. My opinion is that the Seaport area of Boston is kind of tacky—lots of folks with money and like to make sure you know they have piles of it. And I don’t find people friendly there even during the day.
Anyways, Hyatt Places are probably the simplest Hyatt brand while still offering good quality. Another neat part of most Hyatt Places is that they offer free breakfast. They are usually less expensive with cash or points—making for some great value.
Interestingly enough, the Hyatt Place Boston/Seaport District has a 4.5 out of 5 rating on Google reviews with over 800 reviews. It’s surprising as the Hyatt Regencys in Boston have a lower rating but that may be because their customers are more picky.
Hyatt House Boston/Waltham
The Hyatt House Boston/Waltham is very different from the rest of the options on this list as it is 12 miles outside of the city. You are essentially staying in a Boston suburb.
The plus is that you will get a cheaper price with points or cash 99% of the time in comparison to the other hotels. I will say that you won’t be near anything in the city. You would have to rent a car to head into the city. It’s about a 20-30 minute drive.
There is complimentary breakfast at all Hyatt Houses in the United States—a great benefit. And the hotel has an outdoor pool which can be great if you are visiting the area in the summer.
And this hotel has a 4.0 rating out of 5 on Google Reviews with over 900 reviews.
Hyatt Centric Faneuil Hall Boston

The Hyatt Centric Faneuil Hall Boston is located in a great spot near downtown Boston—you have easy access to the Faneuil Hall Marketplace where there’s lots of local restaurants and shops. The hotel is near the North End area of Boston which is known for its Italian culture and amazing Italian food. Be prepared to pay a little extra for an excellent location.
Hyatt Centrics are advertised as modern boutique hotels—so you can expect a chic stay with Hyatt quality.
Hyatt Centric Faneuil Hall Boston has a 4.2 rating out of 5 on Google Reviews with over 600 reviews.
Beacon Hill Hotel

If you are looking for a luxury hotel for your next vacation in Boston, the Beacon Hill Hotel is a great option. It’s situated in one of the most desirable (and most expensive) areas in Boston in the Beacon Hill neighborhood.
The hotel itself doesn’t have a ton of amenities. You are really paying for the location along with the high-class room and service.
This hotel is part of the Mr. & Mrs. Smith hotel collection which is a hotel chain I’ve always dreamed of staying at. It’s worth checking out if there’s a Mr. & Mrs. Smith hotel elsewhere for your next vacay.
The Beacon Hill hotel has a 4.4 out of 5 rating on Google reviews with over 300 reviews.
The Whitney Hotel

The Whitney Hotel has a similar vibe to the Beacon Hill Hotel in that it’s a luxurious hotel in a highly desirable location.
You will be situated on the Boston side of the Charles River near the Charles/MGH subway stop. It’s just a 7 minute walk from the Beacon Hill Hotel. And they are both Mr. & Mrs Smith branded hotels.
If you are looking for a few more amenities with the same luxurious stay, The Whitney Hotel is a good option. You will have an on-site restaurant and access to a fitness center unlike the Beacon Hill Hotel.
The Whitney Hotel has a 4.7 out of 5 rating on Google Reviews with over 200 reviews—a stellar rating.
XV Beacon
The last hotel on the list, the XV Beacon, is the most luxurious of them all. It is another luxurious hotel in downtown Boston where you are near the Boston Common and the Massachusetts State House.
As stated in Hyatt’s hotel description here, you are greeted by a brass-buttoned bellhop at the door to a magnificent hotel. The rooms are sleek and give you the feel that you are staying in a little palace downtown. The rooms can cost upwards of $500 so be ready to shell out some cash.
The XV Beacon has a 4.7 out of 5 rating on Google Reviews with over 700 reviews.
How can you book a Hyatt hotel with points?
You can book a Hyatt hotel with points in a number of ways and my personal favorite is with Chase points. Now you can’t directly book a Hyatt with Chase points but you can transfer your Chase points to Hyatt as a transfer partner with a 1:1 point ratio.
In my humble opinion, the best way to earn Chase points is through sign up bonuses. For instance, the Chase Sapphire Reserve® is offering 125,000 points after you spend $6,000 in the first three months of the account opening. Depending on what you are looking for, that could get you 8-10 nights in a Hyatt hotel (after transferring the Chase points to your Hyatt account).
As an example let’s look at the Hyatt regency in Boston Harbor. You could stay at this hotel for just 12,000 Hyatt points a night. This means you could stay here for 10 nights for just 120,000 points—an amazing deal for a hotel that normally costs over $200 a night.
If you aren’t looking to shell out $795 a year for the Chase Sapphire Reserve® but still want to get some chase points, the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card is an excellent choice. The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card is offering 75,000 Chase points after you spend $5,000 on purchases in the first three months from the account opening. This is a bargain especially for a $95 annual fee card. If you’re looking for more info on the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, you can check out our review.
Final Remarks
This comprehensive list of Hyatt hotels in Boston should give you a plethora of options for your next Boston trip. Whether you are looking for a luxury hotel or an excellent location, Hyatt has it all. While guaranteeing superb quality.
And Chase has a number of credit cards like the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card or Chase Sapphire Reserve® where you can earn Chase points to transfer to your Hyatt account. And then the possibilities are endless on your future points booking at Hyatt hotels.
