The Atmos™ Rewards Ascent Visa Signature® credit card and Atmos™ Rewards Summit Visa Infinite® credit card are getting attention for their limited-time welcome offers that were just released on Oct. 21, 2026. But beyond the welcome bonuses, both cards have another valuable benefit: the ability to earn Atmos points on rent payments through Bilt Rewards.

TL;DR

  • The Atmos Ascent and Summit both earn 3 points per dollar spent on rent transactions through Bilt, on up to $50,000 each calendar year

  • Bilt charges a 3% transaction fee, but every dollar you spend on rent also earn Atmos status points and gets you closer to Atmos status.

  • Summit cardholders can use rent spending to make substantial progress toward the $60,000 anniversary year spending requirement for the 100K Global Companion Award

How the Bilt and Atmos Rewards partnership works

The benefit is available on the two consumer Atmos Rewards credit cards. Both cards currently have new limited-time online offers:

  • Atmos™ Rewards Ascent Visa Signature® credit card: Earn up to 80,000 bonus points. Get 60,000 bonus points and a $99 Companion Fare (plus taxes and fees from $23) after spending $3,000 or more on purchases within the first 90 days of opening your account. Earn an additional 20,000 bonus points after spending a total of $5,000 or more on purchases within the same 90-day period.

  • Atmos™ Rewards Summit Visa Infinite® credit card: Get 100,000 bonus points and a 25,000-point Global Companion Award with this offer. To qualify, spend $6,000 or more on purchases within the first 90 days of opening your account.

The Atmos Ascent and Summit cards earn 3 Atmos points per dollar spent on rent transactions made through Bilt, on up to $50,000 per calendar year. That means you can earn a maximum of 150,000 Atmos points per calendar year from rent transactions alone, which includes points earned on Bilt’s 3% transaction fee.

Once you reach the $50,000 calendar year limit, you'll continue earning 1 Atmos point per dollar on rent payments for the rest of the year. The limit resets every January 1st.

Keep in mind that this benefit is only available on the personal Atmos Ascent and Summit cards. The Atmos Rewards Visa Business card is not eligible to earn points on rent through Bilt.

The math on paying rent with an Atmos card through Bilt

To figure out whether paying rent with an Atmos card is worth the 3% transaction fee, it helps to see how the math plays out on how many points you can actually earn.

Here’s an illustrative example of your potential earnings when your monthly rent payment is $1,000.

  • Rent: $1,000

  • $1,000 rent × 3% transaction fee = $30

  • Total card charge: $1,030

You’ll earn 3 Atmos points per dollar of the total card charge, which includes the 3% transaction fee.

  • $1,030 [total card charge] × 3 [bonus earn rate] = 3,090 Atmos points

Bank of America® 10% Relationship Bonus

If you have an eligible Bank of America® account, you'll receive a 10% relationship bonus on points earned with the Atmos Ascent or Summit. Let’s continue the example with the $1,000 rent amount where you earn 3,090 without the relationship bonus.

  • Points earned from Bank of America 10% bonus: 3,090 Atmos points × 10% = 309 Atmos points

  • Total points earned: 3,399 Atmos points

You can earn Atmos Rewards status points by paying rent

Beyond Atmos points, paying rent with either card also earns status points that count toward Alaska Airlines' elite status tiers.

The Atmos Ascent earns 1 status point for every $3 spent, while the Atmos Summit earns 1 status point for every $2 spent. Earning status points with rent spending can help you get closer to Alaska status to receive benefits like complimentary upgrades, free checked bags, and priority boarding.

Frame 209

For context, Atmos Silver requires 20,000 status points per calendar year, while Atmos Gold requires 40,000. That means your regular rent payments could help you make meaningful progress toward elite status, even without flying. Summit cardholders also receive 10,000 status points every account anniversary, making it even easier to qualify.

For example, if your monthly rent is $2k, you could earn a lot of status points every year:

  • Atmos Ascent: 8,240 status points

  • Atmos Summit: 12,360 status points

That means paying $2,000 in monthly rent with the Atmos Summit could earn you enough points to qualify for Atmos Silver status, when you factor in the 10,000 status points that cardholders get every card anniversary year.

How to set up an Atmos card for Bilt rent payments

Here is the step-by-step to set up an Atmos card for rent payments through Bilt:

  1. Create a Bilt Rewards account (no Bilt credit card needed)

  2. Link an eligible Atmos Rewards card in your Bilt Wallet.

  3. Set up your Bilt BillPay account in the Home tab of the Bilt app or website

  4. Add those details as a payment method in your property's online rent portal

In order to qualify for earning points on rent spending through the Bilt Rewards and Atmos Rewards partnership, your landlord or property must use an online portal that can accept Bilt’s BillPay routing and account numbers (a pseudo checking account).

Bilt doesn’t currently allow rent payments via check with the Alaska Airlines Partnership.

Also, keep in mind that these payments earn Atmos Rewards points, not Bilt points.

Why Atmos Rewards points can be valuable

One of the best ways to use Atmos points is on short haul American Airlines flight (less than 700 miles).

The screenshots below compare the cost of booking the same flight from Chicago to Philadelphia using Atmos points versus American Airlines miles. Booking through Alaska costs just 4,500 Atmos points + $26, compared to 9,500 American Airlines miles + $5.60 when booking directly with American Airlines. That's a savings of 5,000 points for the exact same flight!

One additional benefit for Atmos Summit cardholders is that Alaska Airlines' $20 partner booking fee is waived when redeeming points for flights on partner airlines through alaskaair.com (terms apply). Atmos Ascent cardholders don't receive this benefit.

Beyond domestic flights, Atmos points can be especially valuable for international business class and first class redemptions through other oneworld partners like Japan Airlines or Cathay Pacific. Premium cabin tickets can cost thousands normally, making partner airline award flights one of the most compelling ways to maximize your Atmos points.

The Atmos Summit card spending sweet spot: $60,000

The Atmos™ Rewards Summit Visa Infinite® credit card includes a 100,000-point Global Companion Award (100K GCA) after spending $60,000 in an anniversary year. That is a high spending threshold for many cardholders, but including rent transactions can make it significantly more attainable.

If you max out the 3 points per dollar earn rate on rent, paying $50,000 in rent transactions would put a cardholder ~83% of the way to the $60,000 threshold before other purchases are counted.

For Atmos Summit cardholders who frequently travel internationally, the 100K GCA can be particularly valuable. This benefit lets you save up to 100,000 Atmos points on a companion award ticket when you book for two by redeeming points on Alaska’s site.

Bottom line

The Bilt and Atmos Rewards partnership gives Atmos Rewards Ascent and Summit cardholders additional ways to earn Atmos points on one of the largest monthly expense: rent.

The headline is simple: earn a total of 3 Atmos points per dollar on rent transactions. The deeper value comes with the additional benefits you get from paying rent with Bilt, which includes Atmos status points, and, for Summit cardholders, substantial progress toward the $60,000 spending requirement for the 100K Global Companion Award.

For renters who already get high value from Atmos points and are pursuing those additional benefits, the fee may be worthwhile.
