The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card is back with its fan favorite limited time bonus: Earn 100,000 bonus points after you spend $5,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.

Heads up: this incredible bonus offer is ending in ~2 days on July 30, 2026 at 3 pm EST (Chase changed the time here from 9 am EST). This is your last chance to secure this awesome elevated offer.

The Sapphire Preferred already sits in the sweet spot for many travelers: it is cheaper than many premium travel cards, but still earns transferable Chase points and includes useful travel benefits. With the return of this huge bonus, it's one of the best times to consider getting the card.

TLDR

  • The Chase Sapphire Preferred currently has a rare limited time bonus: 100,000 bonus points after $5,000 in purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.
  • This awesome 100k points bonus is ending on July 30, 2026 at 3 pm EST.
  • With the new updates as of June 15, 2026, the card now earns 5x through Chase Travel, 3x on dining, gas, EV charging, online groceries, select streaming, and eligible vacation homes.
  • The main caveat is that World of Hyatt transfers are changing to a 4:3 ratio for new Sapphire Preferred cardmembers who apply on or after June 15, 2026.

Why the 100,000-Point Bonus Is a Big Deal

A 100,000-point welcome bonus is unusually strong for a card with a $95 annual fee. The spending requirement is also straightforward: $5,000 in purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.

The biggest reason this offer matters is flexibility. Chase Ultimate Rewards points can be used through Chase Travel, redeemed for cash back or gift cards, or transferred to Chase Ultimate Rewards travel partners. That flexibility makes the bonus more useful than a fixed-value travel credit because you can choose how to redeem based on your trip.

For people planning upcoming travel, this bonus can meaningfully offset flights, hotels, rental cars, vacation rentals, or other travel booked through Chase Travel. It can also be valuable for award travel if you know how to use transfer partners.

New Sapphire Preferred Benefits Make the Offer Stronger

The welcome bonus is the headline, but the card itself has also improved (for the average Joe; more on that below). The Sapphire Preferred now earns 3x points on gas and EV charging, plus 3x points on vacation homes at top brands like Airbnb and Vrbo... all while keeping its same earning categories. That makes the card more useful for road trips, family travel, and everyday spending. Not sure how the refresh affects you? Use our Sapphire Preferred calculator.

Cardmembers also receive up to $100 in statement credits each account anniversary year for hotel stays booked through Chase Travel. That credit helps offset the $95 annual fee entirely if you already book at least one eligible hotel stay through Chase.

The card also adds up to $120 in statement credits every four years for Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, or NEXUS, plus a complimentary Apple TV subscription for one year when activated by December 31, 2026. Terms apply.

Don't forget: Paze

Chase cards are particularly interesting to add right now because of the ongoing Paze promotion. There are two that are live right now:

  • Spend $10, get $10 back—up to 10 times when you use Paze checkout: earn up to $100 total back as statement credit on Paze purchases (through Sep 10, 2026)
  • Earn 10x bonus points on Paze purchases: up to $1,500 in spending per month (through Dec 31, 2026)

If you add the Preferred now, you can also earn up to $100 back from the incredible $10/$10 offer...

Important Caveat: Hyatt Transfers Are Changing

One major change is worth calling out: Ultimate Rewards points will transfer to World of Hyatt at a 4:3 ratio for Sapphire Preferred cardmembers who apply on or after June 15, 2026. Existing cardmembers who applied before June 15, 2026 keep the current Hyatt transfer structure until October 1, 2026.

That change matters significantly because Hyatt has historically been one of Chase’s strongest transfer partners. The Sapphire Preferred can still be a strong travel card, but Hyatt-focused travelers should factor the new ratio into their decision. With the recent Hyatt award chart devaluation, that's an unfortunate double whammy.

Is the Chase Sapphire Preferred 100K Offer Worth It?

From a historical perspective, yes. 100,000 points is a rare, elevated offer for the Sapphire Preferred compared to its typical bonus levels.

Screenshot 2026-06-14 at 11.57.07 PM.png

However, there are some other important factors:

  • It's only worth considering if you can meet the 3 months/$5,000 spending requirement without overspending
  • You might not be eligible for this bonus if you previously held the Preferred or received a new cardmember bonus for it. Chase will usually tell you if you're eligible or not for a bonus at the end of a card application
  • Hyatt isn't an important transfer partner for you; if it is, then this bonus is essentially worth just "75,000" Hyatt points... which is technically the same bonus as usual

For those of you eligible for the card and its bonus, I'd jump on the opportunity right away. But if you value Hyatt highly, then the bonus is essentially just the normal offer. Will it ever be higher? Unknown.

FAQ

Is the Chase Sapphire Preferred 100,000-point bonus limited time?

Yes, this is a limited-time offer that we haven't seen in over a year. The offer is: Earn 100,000 bonus points after you spend $5,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. You should definitely considering getting the card.

Is the Chase Sapphire Preferred 100K offer ending soon?

Yes. We just got word the 100k bonus offer is ending on July 30, 2026 at 3 pm EST. If you've been waiting to get this card... now is the time.

Is the Chase Sapphire Preferred annual fee worth it?

Yes, the Chase Sapphire Preferred annual fee can be easy to justify if you use even a few of its credits. For a $95 annual fee, the card offers up to a $100 Chase Travel hotel credit each account anniversary year, up to $120 every four years for Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, or NEXUS, a complimentary Apple TV subscription, DashPass, and monthly DoorDash non-restaurant credits. Together, those perks can add up to roughly $600+ in potential value before counting the 100,000-point bonus, rewards categories, or travel protections.

What does the Chase Sapphire Preferred earn rewards on?

The Sapphire Preferred now earns 5x on Chase Travel purchases, 3x on dining, gas, EV charging, select streaming services, online groceries, and eligible vacation homes, 2x on other travel, and 1x on other purchases. 3x on vacation homes like Airbnb/VRBO is a rare category not seen on many cards
