Bilt Blue vs. Citi Double Cash: Which Card Comes Out Ahead?

First, it’s doubling the annual The Edit hotel credit to up to $1,000 starting January 1, 2027. This is divided into four statement credits of up to $250 per eligible stay.
Second, there’s a new 3x cap on social media and search engine advertising starting Nov 15, 2026 (you earn the elevated 3x rate on the first $1M spent per account anniversary year)
The catch: the credit remains capped at $250 per qualifying transaction, so one expensive reservation won’t unlock the full amount. Chase’s benefit terms confirm the increase.
Essentially, the same requirements remain: two night minimum & stays must be prepaid through the Chase Travel portal.
The big difference is that starting January 1, 2027 CSRB cardholders will get up to $1,000 in statement credits annually… comprised of four $250 Edit credits.
Yes, if The Edit already fits your travel plans. More annual credit gives frequent travelers additional opportunities to save without changing which card they carry.
But doubling the allowance won’t necessarily double your savings. If you only take one qualifying trip each year, this newly increased benefit will likely do nothing for you. Compare the same room, cancellation policy and included benefits against booking directly before deciding.

Starting November 15, 2026, 3x rewards on social media and search engine advertising will apply to the first $1 million spent per account anniversary year, then drop to 1x.
This is unlikely to bother a lot of people, but for the big advertising spenders, that’s a pretty hefty nerf coming up. That said, this is still an excellent card for consolidating ad spend, especially if you don’t want to juggle several American Express® Business Gold Card.
The bigger Edit credit is a welcome improvement if you already book several qualifying stays each year, but the continued two night minimum restrictions are quite annoying. The ad spend cap is harsh, but it’s still larger than anything available out there.
Overall, I am ambivalent on these changes? Some people may like these new benefits, but I personally won’t find any additional use of the credit.
No. To qualify for the Sapphire Reserve for Business’s The Edit credit, you must book a prepaid “Pay Now” stay of at least two nights through The Edit by Chase Travel and pay with your eligible card. A one-night reservation does not qualify, even if it costs more than $250.
Booking directly with the hotel also does not meet the credit’s booking requirements.
No. Chase limits the reimbursement to up to $250 per qualifying transaction. A $1,000 qualifying reservation would therefore receive up to $250 from this benefit, not $1,000.
To use the full annual allowance, you need at least four qualifying bookings that each receive the maximum $250 credit.
No. The $1,000 annual allowance is available throughout the calendar year, with a maximum of $250 per qualifying transaction. You do not have to spread your bookings across four quarters (that would be awful). This gives you flexibility to make qualifying bookings when they fit your travel plans, rather than scheduling one every three months.
The increase takes effect January 1, 2027. The annual maximum remains $500 for 2026, then rises to $1,000 per calendar year.
The $250 transaction limit and two-night minimum continue to apply.
