Alaska Airline’s two Atmos consumer credit cards have new, competitive limited-time online offers.

The Atmos™ Rewards Summit Visa Infinite® credit card now offers up to 100,000 bonus points plus a 25,000-point Global Companion Award, while the Atmos™ Rewards Ascent Visa Signature® credit card offers up to 80,000 bonus points plus a $99 Companion Fare.

If you’ve been waiting for the return of these big bonuses, now is the time to strike. The main differences are the annual fees, spending requirements, and companion benefits.

Atmos Ascent: Up to 80,000 bonus points

You can earn the Atmos™ Rewards Ascent Visa Signature® credit card bonus in two stages:

  • Spend $3,000 on purchases within the first 90 days of account opening to earn 60,000 bonus points and a $99 Companion Fare, plus taxes and fees from $23.

  • Reach $5,000 in total purchases within that same 90-day period to earn an additional 20,000 bonus points.

That means the full 80,000-point bonus requires $5,000 total spending in the first 90 days after account opening.

The card has a $95 annual fee, making it the lower-cost option. Compared to previous bonuses, this is pretty much up there amongst the best:

See our Atmos Ascent review for the full list ongoing benefits. The Ascent is a solid low annual fee airline card that packs a ton of value, especially if you need checked bags when flying Alaska Airlines.

Atmos Summit: 100,000 bonus points

With the Atmos™ Rewards Summit Visa Infinite® credit card, you can earn:

  • 100,000 bonus points

  • A 25,000-point Global Companion Award

To qualify, spend $6,000 or more on purchases within the first 90 days of opening your account.

Compared to other previous offers, this is also historically quite strong:

For more on the card’s ongoing benefits, read our Atmos Summit review. We like the Summit because its such a unique card that really rewards loyalty with the Atmos Rewards program as a whole. For instance, we use ours for all eligible foreign purchases to earn a whopping 3.3 points per $1 spent (yes, really).

Our take

Compared to previous Atmos/Alaska Airline credit card offers, these are up there. While we technically can’t call them the “best ever”, they’re pretty much 95% of the way there and are strong enough to move the needle if you’ve been thinking about getting either card.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 80,000 point Atmos Ascent offer good?

Yes. Both offers are very competitive, particularly if you already have plans to redeem Atmos Rewards points.

At our estimated value of 1.5 cents per point, the Summit’s 100,000 bonus points are worth $1,500, before counting the separate 25,000-point Global Companion Award.

Ascent’s full 80,000-point bonus is worth an estimated $1,200. Adding our $150 estimated value for the $99 Companion Fare brings the total offer value to approximately $1,350.

These are estimates before annual fees, not guaranteed cash values. Your actual value depends on how you redeem the points and whether you use the companion benefit.

When do the current bonuses for the Atmos Ascent and Atmos Summit end?

We don’t have a confirmed end date to share yet. Both are limited-time online offers, so check that the application page displays the bonus you want before applying.

Which Atmos card bonus is the better deal?

The Atmos™ Rewards Ascent Visa Signature® credit card is particularly compelling if you want a large bonus with a lower annual fee. Its full offer requires $5,000 in purchases within 90 days, and the card’s annual fee is $95.

While the Summit’s bonus is bigger on paper, the annual fee is larger, meaning you really have to make sure you can get good value out of the card.
