nextcard sync
Privacy Policy
How the nextcard sync Chrome extension handles data when you sync rewards, benefits, and merchant offer information to your nextcard account.
Last updated: June 21, 2026
What nextcard sync does
nextcard sync lets you connect supported loyalty accounts and credit card accounts to your nextcard wallet. When you choose to sync a provider, the extension opens that provider's website, waits for you to sign in, reads account information that is visible on the page, and saves the synced data to your nextcard account.
Data we handle
The extension only handles provider information needed for the sync, offer discovery, and offer activation features you choose to use. This may include:
- Loyalty program balances, rewards balances, elite status, tier progress, and account identifiers such as member name or member number.
- Credit card reward balances, card names, card last four digits, linked-card counts, and benefit or statement credit usage visible after you sign in.
- Merchant offer information, offer activation status, offer identifiers, merchant names, and related offer metadata used by the extension's offer tools.
- Bonus registration details you enter for user-requested bonus tools, such as last name and ZIP code when required by an issuer.
- Active shopping-site hostnames checked against saved offer data to show user-facing offer reminders.
- Extension operation data such as sync status, consent records, timestamps, extension version, error state, and settings needed to provide sync and retry behavior.
Data we do not collect
The extension is designed so nextcard does not see or store your provider login credentials. We do not collect:
- Provider passwords.
- MFA or one-time verification codes.
- Full credit card numbers.
- Provider login credentials.
- Issuer session cookies for storage by nextcard or transmission to nextcard.
Some offer and bonus tools may use your existing signed-in issuer session locally in the browser to complete actions you request, such as retrieving eligible offers or registering a bonus. The extension does not store issuer session cookies or send those cookies to nextcard.
Data stored on your device
The extension may store limited information in Chrome local storage on your device so it can keep you signed in to nextcard, show current sync state, retry failed saves, and remember choices you make in the extension. Local storage may include:
- Your nextcard extension authentication token.
- Synced provider data and sync status shown in the extension.
- Pending sync payloads used to retry failed saves.
- Consent flags, last sync timestamps, provider settings, and offer URL caches.
- Information you enter for a user-requested tool, such as Chase bonus last name and ZIP code, when that tool needs it.
How we use data
We use extension data to:
- Show synced rewards, benefit, and offer information in the extension and in your nextcard account.
- Save user-requested sync results to nextcard.
- Detect eligible merchant offers and help activate or track offers you choose to use.
- Check the hostname of the active shopping site against your saved offers to show offer reminders.
- Retry failed syncs, troubleshoot errors, prevent abuse, and improve the reliability of extension features.
How we share data
Synced data is transmitted securely to nextcard when you initiate a sync or offer-related action. The extension may interact with supported provider or issuer websites using your existing signed-in browser session when needed to complete a user-requested sync or offer action.
We may share extension data with service providers that help us host, secure, operate, and support nextcard, including backend/database, hosting, authentication, observability, support, and security providers. These providers process data only to provide services to nextcard. We do not sell extension user data, use it for targeted advertising, or transfer it for unrelated purposes.
Security
Extension data sent to nextcard is transmitted over HTTPS. Data stored by the extension is stored in Chrome local storage on your device. Data stored in your nextcard account is protected with administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
Retention and deletion choices
Extension data is retained for as long as needed to provide the sync and nextcard account features, unless you clear synced data, delete your account, or ask us to delete your data. You can clear provider data from the extension. You can also contact us to request access, correction, export, or deletion of personal data associated with your nextcard account.
Limited use
We use personal or sensitive information handled by the extension only to provide or improve nextcard sync and related user-facing extension features. We do not use this information for advertising, retargeting, or unrelated profiling.
