TLDR; Capital One Cafes are a unique concept that are great for working, studying or grabbing a cup of coffee. I always love my experiences at Capital One Cafes.

Capital One Cafes are advertised similar to your favorite coffee spot while also offering customer perks and banking services. You can get excellent prices with certain credit cards as well.

What was my experience like at the Capital One Cafe in the Seaport area of Boston, Massachusetts?

I really enjoy Capital One Cafes when I travel or when I’m looking for somewhere to work remotely. This past summer, my girlfriend worked downtown in Seaport and when I had remote days I was looking for a place to work near her. I decided to try out the Capital One Cafe in the Seaport area in Boston.

What’s nice about Capital One Cafes is that you can get 50% off handcrafted beverages if you have a Capital One card or a Discover card. That means you could get a fancy latte and only pay two or three dollars. I usually opt for green or herbal iced tea. At most cafes this drink would cost four or five dollars. At a Capital One Cafe, it's under three dollars.

Capital One Cafes also had this really neat promotion during the 2025 Major League Baseball regular season where you could get a free handcrafted beverage every Monday. And this not only for people with Capital One or Discover cards—employees at the front actually remind you of the fact that you can get a free handcrafted beverage. I took advantage of this frequently with my teas but there is more value there for folks that like extravagant coffee drinks.

Unfortunately, the MLB regular season is over so the promotion has expired.

There was also a March Madness promotion earlier this year where you got a one-time coupon for a free handcrafted beverage from March 16th to April 7th. I am selfishly hoping we get some cool promotions for the end of this year or the following year.

The cafe itself has a lot of bright colors and this one had two floors. The 2nd floor was much quieter with folks studying or working. The first floor seemed to be for people having a coffee chat or spending just 15-30 minutes there. Also, there are community rooms you can reserve if you are a student, alumni or work for a non-profit. These rooms are nice for taking a zoom call or a phone call—I’ve used these rooms before during my previous job at a non-profit in Massachusetts.

What’s the food and beverage like?

I find the green and herbal iced teas to be solid quality—nothing too crazy. My girlfriend gets the fancier coffee drinks and she enjoys them. I also find when you are paying half the price it tastes a lot better hahah. A couple of times I’ve tried the yogurt power bowl and it was pretty good. My only complaint is that you can’t get any discounts and it costs $8.50 for something that’s only 340 calories.

How do you use the banking services there?

Upon entering a Capital One Cafe, there are attendants that greet you. They don’t usually say anything other than hi, how are you? But, if you are interested you can talk to them about getting a Capital One card, Capital One checking account or savings account. There’s all kinds of advertising on the walls and menu about their banking services.

What were the reviews on the Capital One Cafe in Seaport?

On Google reviews, the Capital One Cafe in the Seaport area of Boston had a rating of 4.2 out of 5. When you compare this to another popular cafe in Seaport, Caffe Nero, they also have a 4.2 out of 5 rating. This is notable as Caffe Nero is solely known for their cafe and bakery treats whereas Capital One is known for their credit cards and banking services primarily.

It's a reminder that folks enjoy their experience at a Capital One Cafe just like any other cafe in the area. It’s clean, has good food and drink and lots of space to work & study.

What are some good Capital One credit cards to get you discounts at Capital One Cafes?

The Capital One Savor card is a great card for folks to get if they are looking for benefits on drinks at the cafe. It has no annual fee and you can get $200 in rewards. You will receive a $200 cash bonus if you spend $500 in the first three months from the account opening.

The other card that’s a good option is the Capital One Capital One Savor Student Cash Rewards Credit Card. There’s no annual fee and you will receive a $50 cash bonus after you spend $100 in the first three months from the account opening. Final Remarks

Overall, I’d say that Capital One Cafes are a fantastic experience. It feels similar to traditional cafes like Starbucks, Caffe Nero or Tatte. And you can get handcrafted beverages for half the price with a Capital One or Discover card! And the Capital One Cafe in Seaport was especially nice as it was three times the size of most Starbucks locations.

If you are looking to lock in and get some work done remotely or change up your study spot, Capital One Cafes like the one in the Seaport area of Boston, MA are great.
