How can I access a Chase Sapphire Lounge?

Whenever I have an upcoming flight, one of the first things that comes to mind is what lounges are available for me to visit at the airport before my flight. Airport lounges can significantly improve your flying experience, allowing you to relax, unwind, and eat, so you won’t be hungry and wondering when the flight attendant will come by with food every five minutes.

In my opinion, the best and most top-tier lounges I have visited are the Chase Sapphire Lounges. These lounges are brand new, as the very first Chase Sapphire lounge in the world opened in Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) in October 2022.

What Are Chase Sapphire Lounges

Chase Sapphire Lounges are Chase’s branded, premium airport lounges that are part of the Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club network. These lounges are very stylish and luxurious, offering travelers beautiful interiors with thoughtfully curated spaces that reflect modern design as well as a taste of the local culture of the host city.

These lounges are among the best lounges I’ve ever been to, as it is simply eye-striking to just be inside a Sapphire lounge, and they come with some of the best amenities that airport lounges could offer.

It is best to visit a Sapphire lounge on an empty stomach, as the food served there is truly delicious. On top of the food, you can swing by the bar in the lounge for a complimentary drink or cocktail made by the bartender.

In addition to food, Sapphire lounges often feature a range of other amenities that travelers thoroughly enjoy, including wellness areas, private showers, facial treatments, and private rest pods.

These additional amenities vary by location, but they are undoubtedly premium amenities that make Chase Sapphire Lounges some of the best airport lounges available. On top of that, you can’t complain when these amenities are complimentary with your lounge visit.

Chase Sapphire Lounge Locations

Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club is a relatively small network of airport lounges, currently available in only two countries worldwide. However, they are expanding, and Chase has plans to expand their current network of lounges.

The lounge locations that are currently open to the public are:

• Hong Kong International Airport (HKG)
• Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)
• John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)
• LaGuardia Airport (LGA)
• Philadelphia International Airport (PHL)
• Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX)
• San Diego International Airport (SAN)
• Harry Reid International Airport (LAS)

Lounge locations that are currently under construction and are planning to open soon:

• Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW)
• Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)

Additionally, the one international Chase Sapphire Lounge location at Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) has announced plans to close on January 5, 2026.

With only a few airports that have open Sapphire lounge locations, it may be difficult for some travelers to visit a Sapphire lounge if one of the airports listed isn’t a personal hub.

However, it is highly likely that Chase will continue to expand their network of lounges, so don’t give up just yet—a Chase Sapphire lounge could be coming to your area soon!

How to Access Chase Sapphire Lounges

Chase Sapphire Lounges can be accessed in various ways, as eligibility isn’t defined by a singular, strict path.First and foremost, you must have a boarding pass for a departing flight from the airport where you are located. You cannot enter airport lounges if you’re flying into the airport that has the lounge you’re trying to visit. Additionally, your boarding pass for the departing flight must be for a flight departing within the next 3 hours.

Along with your same-day boarding pass within 3 hours, you must have one of these Chase credit cards in the Sapphire Lounge access trifecta:

1. Chase Sapphire Reserve®
2. Sapphire Reserve for Business℠
3. Ritz-Carlton™ Credit Card

Primary cardmembers of these credit cards have access to Sapphire lounges, plus access to over 1,300 Priority Pass lounges with their complimentary Priority Pass™ Select membership.

Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Reserve for Business cardholders can bring up to two guests per visit at no additional charge, and each additional guest will incur a $27 fee per person. Ritz-Carlton cardmembers may bring unlimited guests for no additional charge.

Unfortunately, this unlimited guest policy for Ritz-Carlton™ Credit Card will be sunsetted beginning January 15, 2026, as only two additional guests will be allowed for free instead of the former unlimited guest policy. On the bright side, additional authorized users remain free with no additional charge.

However, if you aren’t a holder of these three credit cards, and you have a non-trifecta Priority Pass™ Select membership, you can get one complimentary access to any Sapphire lounge per calendar year.

After your first complimentary visit, you can pay $75 per visit to access a Sapphire lounge. Non-trifecta Priority Pass members are not eligible to bring additional guests free of charge.

If you don’t possess any of these credentials, you can purchase access to a Sapphire lounge for $100 per person per visit.

Authorized User Access

Even though cardholders of the trifecta of cards mentioned earlier are eligible to access Sapphire lounges, not all three of the cards grant similar access and privileges to authorized users.

The Sapphire Reserve and Ritz-Carlton cards grant lounge access to authorized users, as well as complimentary Priority Pass™ Select membership. Sapphire Reserve charges $195 per authorized user, while the Ritz-Carlton card allows you to add authorized users at no additional charge.

These authorized users are granted the same guest privileges as primary cardholders, meaning that authorized users of the Sapphire Reserve can bring two guests at no additional charge, and Ritz-Carlton authorized users can bring unlimited guests for free until January 15, 2026, where the number of free additional guests will be limited to two guests.

However, the Sapphire Reserve for Business does not grant access to Sapphire Lounges for authorized users, nor are authorized users given Priority Pass memberships.
