How to claim the certificate

In order to claim the certificate, you’ll need to follow a few steps. Also, keep in mind that this free point certificate is only available for primary cardholders of the Chase Sapphire Reserve®. This offer is not extended to authorized users (unfortunately).

You’ll need to visit this link. Make sure you are already enrolled as an Aeroplan member, and if you aren’t a member already, register as one now. You’ll then need to enter your first name, last name, Aeroplan account number, and the last 4 digits of your Chase Sapphire Reserve® card.

If everything is done correctly, you should receive the 5,000-point flight reward certificate in your Aeroplan account within 14 days.

Using the certificate

After the certificate is issued to your account, it will be valid for 365 days. The certificate will be very easy to use, as 5,000 points can either easily help you reduce the cost of a point redemption by a little bit, or you can even add a free stopover on an Aeroplan reward ticket for just 5,000 points.

Since the certificate is valid for a 5,000-point redemption, you can basically earn a free stopover with this certificate. Aeroplan’s stopover feature is very useful when you want to visit multiple different places on a trip, and the fact that the certificate is able to cover the cost of a stopover basically means that you can add another city to your trip for free.
