How do you use The Edit credit with the Chase Sapphire Reserve®?

TLDR; The Edit credit can be a pain to use on the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, but there are definitely some excellent redemptions.

Using The Edit credit on the Chase Sapphire Reserve® can be daunting at first but there’s some fantastic redemptions out there. I just booked a hotel stay for June 2026 so I could put my Edit credit to use before it expired at the end of this year.

What is the Edit credit on the Chase Sapphire Reserve® and Sapphire Reserve for Business℠?

For the second half of this 2025 year you have a $250 credit that can be used for Edit hotels that are booked for two nights or more. And starting in 2026, you will receive two $250 credits (total of $500) that can be used anytime during the year for Edit bookings (two night minimum still required).

What are the features that come with an Edit hotel?

When you book an Edit hotel, you will get:

  • Daily breakfast for two for free
  • $100 Property Credit
  • Room upgrade at check-in (if available)
  • Early check-in (if available)
  • 4 pm guaranteed late check-out
  • Wi-fi

The rest of the benefits are pretty self-explanatory but the $100 Property Credit is worth explaining. This can often be used at the hotel restaurant or for other cool amenities that require a cost at the hotel. For instance, you could use the credit for a spa at some hotels.

How do you find Edit hotels?

When you go onto Chase travel on your Chase account, you are able to filter Edit hotels by region but it’s still very tedious. For instance, let’s say you wanted to look at Edit hotels in the United States. You would be able to set a filter to US hotels but it’s in this big long list in no particular order. The other thing is that if you click on a hotel further down the list and then go back out to all US hotels, the website sends you back to the top of the list.

Instead of dealing with that list, you can easily search Edit hotels across the globe using our map tool. I use it as a map to see what Edit hotels are available in the places I’d like to travel to. And then I’ll have Chase Travel open in another tap or another window to be able to search for the hotel. It’s extremely efficient and it’s saved me hours of potential scrolling and searching on Chase Travel.

Another cool thing about our Chase Edit Hotel Credit Map is that you can see what other folks have paid/seen online for specific dates on Edit hotels. Under the search bar you’ll see “Price Range (per night)” and beneath that is “click here to unlock.”

If you click on that, all you have to do is enter your email and select whether you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve® or Sapphire Reserve for Business℠. After doing this, you’ll be able to see real pricing data from Chase cardholders and find hotels that fit your budget!

How do you know you are paying a good price for your Edit hotel?

Booking Edit hotels can be tricky as oftentimes the hotels are pricier than they would be on the hotel’s website. The thing is that you have to factor in the $250 credit along with the other benefits you get when you book an Edit hotel on Chase Travel—$100 Property Credit, daily breakfast for two etc etc.

My thought is if the hotel is $300 or more on Chase Travel (booked as an Edit hotel) I would have to consider booking on the hotel’s website.

What was my Edit hotel booking?

My girlfriend and I have really been looking forward to staying in Cape Cod, Massachusetts for a weekend in the summer. We wanted to stay for a weekend this past summer but the hotels and Airbnbs were too expensive for us to stay for more than a night.

Surprisingly, I was able to find solid pricing for one of the three Edit hotels on the Cape. I used the NextCard map to look at all three hotels. The Wequassett Resort & Golf Club and Chatham Bars Inn hotels had absurd pricing—some dates I looked at were more than $1,000 a night. I then checked out Red Jacket Beach Resort which seemed to be on the cheaper side. I looked at weekend stays in July and August and they were outside of my budget. I looked into June and was able to find a solid price at $718. I then used about 15,500 points with Points Boost which got the price down to $406. And Chase is offering a $250 credit for Edit hotels that are booked for two nights or more. So that means I would be paying $156 for two nights at the Red Jacket Beach Resort—a fantastic deal. It’s also nice to stay with my girlfriend where we can split the cost ($78 each).

What’s my next Edit hotel stay in 2026?

We’re not even into the next year and I’m already thinking about my next Edit stay. My first thought was to find a hotel to go skiing for a couple days. As a Massachusetts native, there are 2 states I really like to ski in—Vermont and New Hampshire. Stowe, Vermont is a storied place to ski with Stowe Mountain right there but Edit hotels were outrageously expensive there.

I noticed there was a hotel in Manchester, Vermont which was closer to me anyways. It was the Kimpton Taconic Hotel by IHG which seemed like a lovely hotel with a nice view. My idea was to go skiing with a couple friends from college. Unfortunately, prices were upwards of $1,000 for a weekend stay but I found some pretty reasonable prices during the week. I found a 2 night stay from February 25th-27th for $493.

I know it’s just one king bed, but I’m sure one of us can ask for a rollaway bed. Anyways at $493 a night, it’s quite cheap when you factor in the Edit credit. It would be $243 after the $250 Edit credit. And you could even get this hotel for “free” if you used about 12,000 points with points boost to offset the $243 remaining.

Final Remarks

Most of the Edit hotels are not worth booking because the prices are so exorbitant. BUT there are definitely some good redemptions out there. If you don’t mind spending some time looking, you can put your Edit credit to good use. And our map should make searching for your next Edit hotel booking that much easier.
