TLDR; Bilt will have three new cards in February 2026 that will now be issued by Cardless. There’s lots of speculation but one feature that is confirmed is paying your mortgage with these new Bilt cards.
Bilt announced on November 5th that their three new cards issued by Cardless will be officially launched on February 7, 2026. If you are looking to get one of these new Bilt cards (and do not already have one), you will have to wait until February 7, 2026 to apply.
What are the changes from the previous Bilt cards issued by Wells Fargo?
There’s not a ton of information about these new cards yet but what we do know is that one card will have a $0 annual fee, another will have a $95 annual fee, and the last card will have a $495 annual fee.
Bilt announced in October 2025 that United Wholesale Mortgage customers will soon be able to earn Bilt points on mortgage payments. As far as we can tell, it just seems like you need to be a member of the Bilt Rewards program, not someone with a Bilt Card to earn points here.
Another previously confirmed tidbit is that you will be able to pay your mortgage with these new Bilt credit cards issued by Cardless (and earn points). Bilt emphasized this on November 05. On the Wells Fargo issued Bilt cards, you are only able to earn points on rent payments. So this is a pretty big and welcomed change.
I live at home so cards like the Bilt cards and Mesa Homeowners card do not benefit me either way. Although I know lots of friends who rent and use their Bilt card. The addition of earning points on mortgage payments with the new Bilt cards issued by Cardless will welcome older customers. And for Bilt—hopefully some high-rollers.
What happens if you are a current cardholder of the Bilt Wells Fargo cards?
Current cardholders of the Bilt cards issued by Wells Fargo can keep their cards and continue earning points through February 6, 2026. You will have two options when February 7, 2026 rolls around:
- You can switch to one of Bilt’s new cards issued by Cardless.
- Or you can keep your card within the Wells Fargo ecosystem where it will be automatically converted into a Wells Fargo Autograph Visa card.
Is February 2026 the time for you to finally get a Bilt card?
Bilt has been a pretty intriguing and unique card for a while—and now it gets much more interesting. If you have not applied for a Bilt card yet, now would be the time if you own a home.
I would think of it similar to rent payments. Previously you were not able to earn points on rent and with the Bilt Wells Fargo cards things changed. You could now earn points with rent payments. The same applies with mortgage payments. Although I will say there’s already a card where you can earn points on mortgage payments—the Mesa Homeowners card.
You should look into whether the Bilt cards issued by Cardless or the Mesa Homeowners card will be more beneficial for your needs.
Final Remarks
I’m excited to hear more about the changes on the Bilt cards when they are issued by Cardless starting February 7, 2026. However, let’s talk about where things stand currently. The biggest change as of now is earning points on mortgage payments with these new cards. This is game changing as there is a whole new group of customers that can earn points on Bilt—homeowners.
If you are a homeowner, are you intrigued by the new Bilt cards?
