JetBlue is getting into the lounge game with their BlueHouse lounge at JFK airport in New York City. And I’m impressed.
What’s the JetBlue BlueHouse lounge like?
The JetBlue BlueHouse lounge is pretty sweet. It’s a massive 9,000 square foot lounge in Terminal 5 of JFK airport that just opened on December 18th. JetBlue has advertised this lounge as one with an Art Deco design with “playful nods” to JetBlue’s history.
They say it has a New York City two floor apartment-style aesthetic.
The look of this lounge reminds me of a Capital One Lounge with blue colors. Time will tell if it meets the quality of a Capital One Lounge.
How do you get access to the BlueHouse lounge?
In order to get complimentary access to the brand new JetBlue BlueHouse lounge, you need to be a Mosaic 4 member, JetBlue Premier cardholder or transatlantic Mint customer. From what we know so far, transatlantic Mint customers and cardholders of JetBlue’s Premier card can bring one complimentary guest while each additional visitor afterwards will be $39.
Final Remarks
More lounges are good for folks with lounge access as it increases your options. And the hope is with more lounges there is less overcrowding. The JetBlue BlueHouse is cool nonetheless as JetBlue is a less premium airline getting into the lounge game.
FAQs
Will JetBlue passengers with basic economy tickets be eligible for one-time passes or complimentary access into the BlueHouse lounge?
Nope. Right now, JetBlue has said that folks that are Mosaic 4 members, JetBlue Premier cardholders or transatlantic Mint customers have access to the JetBlue BlueHouse lounge.
Should I get the JetBlue Premier card for lounge access?
I would say no. The JetBlue Premier card has a hefty annual fee of $499. If you are looking for lounge access for a decent price, I would get the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card or Chase Sapphire Reserve®.
Can you pay to enter the JetBlue BlueHouse lounge?
It’s unclear if you can pay to enter the BlueHouse lounge at the moment using a one-time pass.
